Since October 1, 1995, investigators submitting proposals to the National Science Foundation and the Public Health Services (including NIH) are required to disclose financial interests that may be related to the work performed under a sponsored project. Disclosure is required any time a proposal is submitted, when changes to financial interest(s) occur or a new investigator is added to a project for which disclosure is required.
Public Health Services agencies include the following agencies of the federal Department of Health and Human Services: the Agency for Health Care and Research (AHRQ), the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Indian Health Service (IHS), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
