Federal Information Exchange (FIE) was awarded a cooperative agreement from DOE to initiate a demonstration project for standardizing the method of electronic generation, submission, and processing of university research applications. Later, other participating agencies joined the cooperative agreement with the goal to have the participating universities, or "National Demonstration Centers for Electronic Research Administration," adopt and implement ERA standards. In addition, NewERA primary considerations are to implement standards for ERA and create a common face to the government. |
